Santander
Modern and cosmopolitan, Santander, the capital of Cantabria, enjoys a privileged setting.
Santander combines mountain and sea and can be serenely enjoyed from any of its many viewpoints. It is outstanding as a peaceful city in which its eleven urban beaches and its natural surroundings make it the perfect place to enjoy oneself and relax.
The city offers alternatives for every taste, both active and restful at the same time. The Cantabrian city is full of buildings, such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria de la Asunción, the Spanish Credit Bank, declared of cultural interest, the Town Hall, the Stone Crane or the famous beach of El Sardinero, which stretches from the Península of La Magdalena to Mataleñas.

A feature of the Cantabrian capital is its Grand Casino, built in 1916, which presides over the Plaza de Italia, one of the busiest gathering points with its traditional summer terraces. Overlooking the sea we find the esplanade of the old balneario de la Primera and from there, the traveler heads towards the romantic Piquio Gardens, from where you can gaze at some of the most beautiful sunsets.
