Cognac

City packed with art and flavour

Cognac is a small town, approximately halfway between La Rochelle and Bordeaux and between Aquitaine and Brittany, in western France.

Thanks to its location, on both banks of the Charente River, it enjoys a delightful setting. This city has a great history linked to the monarchy and the well-known spirit drink of the same name. And it is in the castle, birthplace to Francis I, King of France between 1515 and 1547, where cognac is still being produced. It is a destination of wine-growing landscapes, opulent mansions, carefully nurtured crops and, among other things, two museums dedicated to cognac. The old town, where the medieval quarter is located, has become the main tourist attraction.
