Prague

A city like out of a fairy tale

Prague, the city of a thousand spires, is located in the centre of Europe and it has been built and rebuilt in the most diverse artistic styles.

In the cosy inside of the city, Prague houses an exceptional cultural wealth made up by palaces, towers, churches, fortifications and museums.

The best way to visit Prague is by foot. A good starting-point is Staromestske Namesti, the Old Town Square. Here we find such sights as the Church of St Nicholas and the Goltz-Kinský Palace, which houses the National Gallery and is one of the most beautiful buildings in Czech Republic. Overlooking the square is the Church of Our Lady of Tyn, and the Old Town Hall Tower with the renowned Astronomical Clock. Some other outstanding attractions that are in the must visit list are the Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge, where street vendors and musicians enliven proceedings as we cross the city’s oldest bridge, the only one closed to traffic.

Prague continues being the kind of city that, once you go there, it is difficult to leave and which draws you back again and again. Visitors never fail to be enchanted by the magical air of the lovely city’s streets, its traditional cafés and its age-old literary atmosphere.
